Terminology: badge, label, and product information sheet

This page explains the terms used throughout EPREL Label Suite documentation.
Using these terms consistently helps avoid confusion when setting up the app and reviewing compliance requirements.

In EPREL Label Suite documentation, a badge means the small storefront element shown near the product price or buying area.
In most cases, this is the energy arrow style indicator that shows the product’s energy class and links to or opens the full energy label.
Use badge when talking about:

• the compact storefront element
• the small visual indicator shown on product cards or product pages
• the UI component added by the app

A badge is not the same as the full energy label.

A label means the full official EU energy label for a product.
This is the complete label format defined by the relevant regulation. It is the official visual document that shows the energy class and other standardised product details.
Use label when talking about:

• the full official energy label
• the image or document opened from the badge
• compliance requirements that specifically refer to the official energy label

Do not use label when you actually mean the smaller badge shown in the storefront.

A product information sheet is the official product document that contains structured product information required under the relevant energy-labelling rules. It is also commonly referred to as the product fiche.
It is separate from the energy label.
Use product information sheet when talking about:

• the official product sheet
• the downloadable or viewable compliance document
• the detailed structured information associated with the product

A product information sheet is not the same as the badge and not the same as the full label.
